UD Las Palmas to change coach
Quique Setién is the new coach for UD Las Palmas after the La Liga team dismissed Paco Herrera, and his deputy, Angel Rodriguez, after the eighth game of the season against Getafe ended in a 4-0 defeat. Las Palmas has one won a single match in eight rounds and is currently second from bottom in the Spanish premier league.
Las Palmas and Quique Setien reached an agreement by which the Cantabrian exfutbolista will train the Amarillos for the rest of the season, with a further option to extend possible. Setien is a former Racing Santander, Atletico Madrid and Logrones player.
Paco Herrera took over the team last season, helping them to ascend to the First Division at the end of the play-offs against Real Zaragoza, after they had spent thirteen years out of the top league.
