Bright sunshine and southeast winds

wind powerThe Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecast intense winds for today, Three Kings Day, throughout the Archipelago, though no alerts or advisories have been announced.

Blue skies and sunshine across Gran Canaria, are expected to bring maximum temperatures of between 19º & 23ºC in the shade throughout the weekend with slight cloud possible.  Expect it to be much warmer in direct sunlight.

Winds of between 20 and 30 km/h are expected in the capital, as well as the southwest and northeast of the island, loose breezes elsewhere, although gusts could reach up to 50 km/h on the southwest and northeast, and occasionally at the summit.

Yesterday, winds gusted up to 76 km/h in the Puerto de Mogán, which were the highest recorded in the Archipelago.

A touch of rain also made an appearance in several places around the island. Teror, saw 1.8 litres per square meter, according to the State Agency, which was the maximum amount accumulated.
