Maspalomas ‘Minute of silence’ for #London

The town hall of San Bartolomé de Tirajana stood in mourning over the murderous attack in London last Saturday, as a rejection of violence and in solidarity with the victims, during a symbolic one minute of silence, at the Municipal Offices,, of which Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés are part, joined by employees, general public the mayor and representatives of this administration.

In a communique issued by the mayor’s office, the Consistory wanted to express “repulsion to violence of any kind and defense of freedom, democracy and coexistence, we express our solidarity and sentiments to the families of the deceased and injured, as well as to the Local Authorities of the British capital, after this latest act of barbarism. In our society there is no place for these acts or any other that entails violent demonstration, execrable and condemnable acts against which local governments must fight, because they directly attack our peoples.”
