The Canary Weekend tips 19-21 August
Blessed as we are with the warm August weather, another weekend approaches. Highlights include the BioAgaete Solidarity and Cultural Festival, beer in Teror, little village fiestas in Mogán, concerts in Arinaga, a sports race and the 13th anniversary of Holiday World. Nice one!
Workshops for adults and children, live music concerts simultaneously on three stages, starting from Friday at 20:00 until Sunday, and includes the 3rd Bio Trail (on the evening of 19th), a charity night race along the paths of Tamadaba, organized with the Agaeterun sports club. There will be a Film Festival, Trail Running “Trails in Motion”, a historical and cultural route with Arqueocanaria, release of turtles into the wild, a photography and painting contest as well as stalls selling handicrafts and ‘biochinches’ products and so much more.

This weekend in the Plaza de la Alameda Pius XII, Teror is offering afternoons and evenings of beer; entertainment, music, shows, bouncy castles for kids and skewers at the price of € 1.50 at the beach bar in the Plaza de la Alameda.
Starting on Friday at 7 pm until 2 am
On Friday, starting at 19:00, a night of DJs in the open air with Jero from 23.oo.
On Saturday, the Beer Summer festival starts at 12:00 with live music from 13:30, and at 21:30 drag shows followed at 23:00 with more music and DJ’s.
The Beer Festival will close on Sunday, while the usual artisanal market also continues, with a performance from Miguel Soloist in the Plaza de Sintes starting at 11:00 in the morning and in the Plaza de la Alameda starting at 14:00
On Saturday, Teror also hosts the 7th urban downhill mountain biking race with over 50 cyclists, from 18:00 – 21:30.
Teror Sunday Market is one of the oldest street markets on the island. Perhaps a perfect time to visit the beautiful town of Teror!

“Encuentro de Músicas del Mundo – Una mar de Encanto”
The Department of Culture of Agüimes has organised for Friday and Saturday, the 20th “World Music Meeting – A sea of Enchantment”. The event also serves to kick off the annual festivities in honor of Our Lady Del Pino in Arinaga which continues through until 10 September.
This year four groups of various styles and backgrounds, will entertain through the long summer nights in Arinaga.
The concerts are free and take place in Playa de Arinaga in an area known as the Soco Negro.
On Friday, at 21:00 “La Ronda da Madrugada” from The Azores and 22:30 “Troveros de Asieta” from Tenerife.
On Saturday, at 21:00 the “Sey Sisters”, from Ghana and then the band “Ultima llave” from Gran Canaria performing at 22:30 .
13th Anniversary of Holiday World Maspalomas
Holiday World is turning 13 and the anniversary festivities on Saturday in Holiday world Maspalomas with parade, shows and later also fireworks.

ACUARUN XXX series
Night aquathlon AcuaRun XXX in Playa de Mogán on Saturday evening, organised by ‘pink cows’ with the collaboration of the town of Mogán.
A crazy competition that includes swimming 250 meters and then running for 1km and then repeating that 5 times without stopping. Races start at 20:00 for the relay and then at 21:00 for individuals with 22:15 prizes and a big raffle.
