Misty start to Friday with chance of rain this weekend
The day has started with general cloud over the western islands of the archipelago with some cloud too in evidence over the eastern islands and Gran Canaria expected to continue throughout the morning, giving way to moderate cloud as the day goes on, but with a chance of showers in the late afternoon.
Weak to moderate rainfall to the west of Tenerife may by accompanied by storm weather with isolated and weak showers possible on the eastern isles.
With warm Atlantic waters around the canaries, temperatures are set to remain loosely the same, though could decline slightly in the evening remaining between 17˚ tonight and 28˚ in the shade throughout today.
At sea northeasterly winds expected around force 3-5 – Beaufort scale -; with variables of force 2-3 on the southwest coasts of Gran Canaria, La Palma and El Hierro and south of La Gomera. Northeasterly loose breezes on the coasts giving way to more moderate winds to the west and in the midland and highland areas where strong gusts are expected.
Surging swell is expected in general, curly to swell southwest of La Palma and south of La Gomera, and waves of 1-2 meters from the northeast. Visibility at sea will range from good to moderate.
Aemet predicts predominantly cloudy intervals throughout Friday particularly in midland areas and the western islands; partly cloudy to the east. A probable chance of light rain in Western Isles, expected to be moderate in the extreme west of the archipelago.
The temperatures will continue with little change or slight increase.

Cloudy start across the island giving way to cloudy intervals, predominantly clear in the afternoon. Some weak and scattered rain in the early hours is not ruled out. Temperatures unchanged or slightly rising. Northeasterly wind between 15 and 30 km / h; in southwest coast, loose variable breezes.
