Motor Grande & Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Mogán, are having their traditional fiestas in honour of María Auxiliadora (Mary the Helper) 2017 from Saturday 13 to Wednesday 24 May, organizied by The Puerto Rico Neighbourhood Association with the collaboration of the Town hall of Mogán.
The Association has prepared a program of activities for the 12 days, which include children’s events, concerts, dancing, traditional table games tournaments, and sports games among others. In addition, the program includes the ninth traditional Romeria pilgrimage-offering, held on Saturday, May 20, with a mass-procession, which will take place on Wednesday, May 24.
The 2017 program includes events in the Plaza Motor Grande including the second ever pet contest, a guitar concert, the dessert contest, fireworks and the recently added water festival. You can see the full program here ( in Spanish )
Monday 15 May : Pet contest and the exhibition of indigenous animals at 19:00
Wednesday 17 May : dessert contest starting at 19:30
Thursday 18 May : Children’s Afternoon at 17:00 followed by at 20:30 a Magic show
Sunday 21 May : II Fiesta del Agua, the second Water party at 13:00 with DJ’s and in the evening at 21:00 a concert from a very popular music group ‘Ultima Llave’
Monday 22 May : 19:00 performances from the sports schools of the municipality and at 20:30 acustic concert from Nany Jimenez
Tuesday 23 May : Costume party, collective Birthday party for all the children starting at 17:00 and at 19:45 a musical show ‘Érase una vez’ (Once upon time)
Wednesday 24 May : Mass – procession at 19:00 followed by a concert at 20:30 from Mariachi Peleón to end the festivities
