A hot August weekend ahead and many summer events are going on around the island. Recommended places to visit are Teror and Agaete during this weekend, and these are some of the many highlights…



The Festival Bio@gaete Cultural Solidario, was conceived with the ultimate goal of helping those who need it most, thanks to the collaboration of all participants. Each year, several causes are proposed, among which one that will receive primary benefit from the annual edition of the event is selected. During the festival there is music, workshops, children’s activities, more music, markets, dancing, crafts and did I mention more music and them some. Las Marañuelas beach in Arguineguín will host the ‘Your best sunset‘ Summer Sports activity. You can enjoy the following classes directed and all of them free of charge, at the following times:

· 20:00 – 20:25: LusanFit; Cardiobox; Aquabox
· 20:30 – 20:55: Zumba
· 21:00 – 21:25: Yoga




Teror is the place to visit during this weekend with  Patron Saint of Gran Canaria “Fiesta del Pino” festivities just getting going at the moment.

The Teror main town hosts a refreshing proposal, on Saturday and Sunday, that offers the public the opportunity to enjoy some of the most innovative and fun shows of puppets, theatre, circus, music, humour and dance.

The “En Pie” (on foot) International Festival of Street Art consolidates this sixth edition, with a fortnight of performances, workshops and concerts for the whole family, to be held in various areas of the historic centre. Children, young and old will be able to enjoy magnificent street performances and shows coming from different parts around Spain. The music will be centred around  ‘La Bandita’, Patricia Muñoz and ‘Salvapantallas’, on Saturday and the locally popular music group ‘Overbooking, on Sunday.

On Sunday a Cattle Fair at Finca de Osorio from 10:00-15:00. The Cattle Fair of the Pine will have demonstrations of threshing, Roman plowing, planting, donkey rides, exhibition of agricultural machinery, a sample of black canary pig, shepherd’s jump, shearing and milking. Traditional workshops for children. Samples of craftsmanship in the field of agriculture and livestock. Musical performance of La Parranda de Teror.



The festivities in the seaside neighbourhood of Melenara in Telde will come to an end this Sunday.

On Saturday, the big night, with the spectacular firework show at the beach of Melenara at midnight.
The City Council and the public transport companies of Telde have agreed on a plan to facilitate access to the beach of Melenara this Saturday, where there will be one of the best attended events of the municipality, the pyrotechnic spectacle of the festivities of this coastal neighbourhood.

On Sunday, the maritime – land procession starts at 18.00 (a good place to be is at the beach of Melenara ) and later, the Gala, starting at 21:30 will end the 2018 festivities.

Summer Sundays: Sports! at the Angry Birds Activity Park Gran Canaria

Artenara, Gran Canaria’s highest village is celebrating “Virgen de la Cuevita” festivities. Saturday at 12:00 foam party at the football field with the solidarity €2 entry.  Sunday is the main fiesta day. Good place to visit is Plaza de San Matias and in the evening a fireworks
