? The municipality of Mogán have declared a Health Warning Level 1 (yellow) due to high temperatures tomorrow, August 24. This means that the maximum temperatures will exceed 32ºC and the minimum temperatures will not fall below 24º.

The General Directorate of Public Health recommends:

· Drink plenty of water or liquids without waiting to feel thirsty, unless there is a medical reason not to. Avoid alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea or cola and very sugary drinks.

· Avoid sun bathing during the hours of highest heat intensity (between 11am and 4pm), preferably doing it before after .

· During the hottest hours, remain in the coolest areas of your home or residence, and if necessary use ventilation or air conditioning appliances, or if need be use fresh damp cloths or take regular showers to cool down.

· Avoid sports activities, outings, excursions or visits during the hottest hours. Perform these activities early in the day, late in the afternoon or at night; you should ensure you are well protected from the sun and drink abundantly to replenish liquids and mineral salts (juices, isotonic drinks, water, etc.).

· Make light meals that help to replace the salts lost through sweat (salads, fruits, vegetables, gazpachos or juices).

· If you have to go outside, try to be in the shade, wear light  clothes, protect yourself from the sun, wear a hat. Wear cool, comfortable and breathable shoes.

· Be careful with medications, especially those that should be in the refrigerator for proper preservation.

· Ensure food is properly stored.

· In the case of presenting any symptoms associated with heat such as headaches, dizziness, cramps, malaise, feelings of suffocation due to heat fatigue or exhaustion, contact the main emergency coordination centre by calling 112.  They speak your language.

· Animals: ensure water is abundantly available and it is fresh. Special attention must be paid to our furry friends and their welfare.
