Autumnal events and festivities are on their way. There are loads of patron saints’ festivities taking place around the island. There are also fairs, festivals, fireworks, and even a rally to look forward to.


Saturday, 27S is also “officially” World Tourism Day, so there will be recognitions for the special Day throughout the weekend

 

 

  • Double whammy markets to enjoy in Vecindario as Km.0 fair Gran Canaria and Feria del Sol are taking place this Saturday and Sunday.

 

  • TouriFest Maspalomas offering a free outdoor music festival down by the beach at Anexo II this Friday and Saturday to celebrate World Tourism Day.

 

  • The historic centre of Agüimes is decked out to celebrate, as it is every year at this time, their co-patron saint’s festivities in honour of the Virgen del Rosario.

    The 48th Bringing of Gofio and Water procession that will get rather messy. 

 

  • The lovely market town of Vega de San Mateo is celebrating their last weekend of their patron saint’s festivities

 

  • In the capital, Fiestas del Rosario in Vegueta, Fiestas del Naval in La Isleta are just getting started. It is also the last weekend you can enjoy the free performances of the Temudas – the annual dance theatre and music festival in Plaza de Canarias.

Vecindario | Km.0 Fair Gran Canaria & Sun Fair | 27-28 September

A double fair to enjoy in Vecinario this Saturday and Sunday as another edition of the ‘Feria Km.0 Gran Canaria’ takes place, and this time, accompanied by ‘Feria del Sol’, The Sun Fair.
The fair is open on both days from 09:00 to 14:00, at Plaza de los Algodoneros and Avenida de Canarias 

The Km.0 Gran Canaria Fair-Southeast edition arrives in Vecindario with a very special event, held in conjunction with the Feria del Sol, turning this gathering into a unique space where tradition, sustainability, and innovation come together. Throughout the weekend, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the best local products, sourced directly from the island’s farmers, ranchers, bakers, and artisans, in an environment that values ​​responsible and local consumption.

Maspalomas Tourifest | 26-27 September 🎶🥳

Maspalomas Tourifest 2025 will turn Playa del Inglés beachside into the grand stage for World Tourism Day this Friday and Saturday. This is a free festival for residents and tourists, bringing together thousands of people on the coast. 

For the third consecutive year, Playa del Inglés will host Tourifest 2025, a major musical and festive event with which the municipality celebrates World Tourism Day (27 Sep). A format that has already attracted thousands of people in its first two editions, consolidating its position as the most attractive festival in southern Gran Canaria.

The event will take place this Friday from 18:00-02:00, and Saturday from 14:00-02:00 at Anexo II in Playa del Inglés, the most international beach in the Canary Islands, with free admission and an atmosphere designed for residents and visitors. Under this year’s global theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” Tourifest unites music, sustainability, and civic coexistence in a unique setting.

 

 

What’s on offer on both days:
Between concerts, you will find a market with original offerings, an attractive food court, bars with reusable cups, and a photo call in shades of fuchsia and yellow that invites them to share the experience with the iconic dune landscape in the background.

Music:
On Friday
The festival will kick off on Friday with a lineup designed to ignite the night: DJ Toni Bob, Aseres, DJ Ruymán, Mejor con Copas, and DJ Mile will fill the Playa del Inglés sands with rhythm and energy.

On Saturday
The party will continue with a program that combines fun and nostalgia: DJ Ruymán and DJ Toni Bob will return to the booth, along with Barco a Venus (a Mecano tribute), Supersonikka, Las K-Narias, and DJ Chaxi, who will put the finishing touch to a day full of music and dancing.

*NEW* The Family Fest will be this year’s big new feature. It will offer a special block of family activities between 14:00 and 17:00 on Saturday, with a fun gymkhana and water games designed for group enjoyment and to bring the festival spirit to all ages.

Maspalomas | NOON Canarias Festival2025 - Faro de Maspalomas 🎶 | Saturday 27th

A summer/autumn schedule of free classical and modern music concerts in a unique setting: the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse. Until 25 October 2025, every Saturday at 12:00, enjoy guitars, flutes, quartets, timple (the traditional Canarian stringed instrument), and much more, with top-level artists from the Canary Islands and other regions. All concerts start at 12:00

🔹 This Saturday, 27 September, a performance by Vibráfono con Seis y Cuatro. A midday concert where the rhythm of the vibraphone and the richness of strings will merge in a unique show by the sea.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria | TEMUDAS - The Theatre, Dance and Music Festival | until Sunday 28

TEMUDAS, the 29th edition of the theatre, dance and music Festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will have its final weekend. 

From September 18 to 28, always from Thursday to Sunday, 37 companies have been offering a program of shows that, with a few exceptions, will take place in the surroundings of Santa Catalina Park.

This edition will offer up to 72 performances of the 39 shows produced by seven Canarian companies, 24 mainland companies, and six international companies.
Except for a few unique opportunities, most shows will have a second showing, and some will have up to six opportunities to see the show.

Overall, TEMUDAS 2025 will take place in the Santa Catalina area with free admission. The area will feature a food court, four exhibition spaces, and its streets will host the travelling options.

Fiestas de La Naval 2025 - La Isleta

In La Isleta, celebrations are held every October to honour Our Lady of La Luz, patron of the Port and protector of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The festivities commemorate the island’s victory over the ill-fated attack by the British pirates Francis Drake and John Hawkins in October 1595. The festivities are celebrated this year between 27 September – 20 October 2025 

 

The victory against the British privateer Sir Francis Drake gave rise to the celebration of La Naval, making this event and its Pilgrimage “one of the oldest on the island and possibly in the Canary Islands”, and has been commemorated in the Hermitage of La Luz since 1600.

Fiestas del Rosario 2025 - Vegueta, LPA | until 5 October

The Fiestas del Rosario in Vegueta, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a religious and cultural celebration honouring the Virgin of the Rosary, patron saint of the city, with processions, religious services, and traditional activities, are celebrated between 26 September and 5 October 2025.

These festivities in the historic centre have their roots in popular devotion to the Virgin of the Rosary and date back several centuries. They are one of the city’s most important celebrations, combining religious and cultural traditions. The festivities reflect Vegueta’s cultural identity, combining religious elements with folklore, music, traditional dances, and events that unite the community in honour of its patron saint. It’s held every Sunday outdoors from 08:00 to 13:30, with 26 stalls offering agricultural products by the producers themselves.

 

Agüimes | Fiestas patronales del Rosario | until 12 October

The historic centre of Agüimes is decked out to celebrate, as every year at this time, its patron saint festivities in honour of the Virgen del Rosario, co-patron saint and perpetual mayor of the municipality.

23:00 Los Lola, DJ Ulises Acosta concert at Plaza Teatro Auditorio.

Saturday 27 September: 48º Traída del Gofio y del Agua
19:00 Bringing the Gofio and Water procession, accompanied by Banda Isleña. (This is going to get messy with gofio flower being thrown around!)
The millo, now made into gofio, will return to the town with the celebration of the ‘Traída del Gofio y del Agua’. Hundreds of people will once again gather to make the journey from the Lolita and Ananías mills to the historic centre. Due to its uniqueness, the Traída is always the most eagerly awaited event of these festivities, declared of National Tourist Interest.

Valleseco | Fiestas de La Encarnación and La Manzana | until 12 October

Valleseco, municipality of Gran Canaria, famous for its apples and cider, celebrates the festivities of Incarnation and the Apple, ‘La Encarnación and La Manzana’ between 27 September – 12 October 2025. This is a celebration of the municipality, its people, and its customs.

In 2011, this festival was declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest by the Government of the Canary Islands; hence, a list of activities has been devised to promote this municipality of the island’s medians every year.

The apple is the quintessential symbol of Valleseco. The French or Canadian pippin stands out for its quality and peculiar sweet and sour flavor. It was introduced back in 1858 by the then-mayor, who decided to recover the vacant lands of the municipality with fruit trees. Currently, the Valleseco apple serves as the basis for the production of Gran Valle Cider. In addition, it gives its name to a festival, that of the Apple, in which, among other events, a massive pilgrimage is celebrated on the eve of the main festival; a craft fair in which various artisans from the municipality exhibit and show their work to the public, ranging from carpenters, ceramists, leather and stone craftsmen, basket makers to weavers, traditional costume tailor or woodcarver; a competition of dishes made with apples and tastings of cider and other products related to this fruit. 

 

Sunday, 28th: Tradition and popular culture come together in the heart of Gran Canaria.
Livestock Fair held at the La Laguna de Valleseco Recreation Area, starting at 10:00, accompanied by activities typical of the Canarian rural heritage:

In addition, the 4th San Vicente Ferrer Equestrian Cup will kick off, with the eagerly awaited horse races. 🏇

Saturday 4th: Romería, pilgrimage 

On the first Sunday of October, this year, on October 5, the other great celebration of the municipality takes place in honour of Our Lady of the Incarnation. It is also the Apple Festival, in which the neighbours come on pilgrimage with their carts from all the neighbourhoods dressed in their typical costumes to offer the Virgin the products of the land on the Saturday before the main day.

Valsequillo | Fiestas de San Miguel | Until October 11

Valsequillo de Gran Canaria is celebrating their Patron Saint Festivities and Fair of San Miguel Arcángel, and the celebrations will last until 11 October 2025.

Some of the main events of the festivities, like the Suelta del Perro Maldito – street theatre show, the livestock fair, civic-religious procession, are taking place this weekend as the big day will be on Monday.
As was the case last year, the Plaza de Tifariti and the Plaza de San Miguel will host most of the concerts and events of the festivities.

Fiestas Patronales Vega de San Mateo | until Sunday

The lovely market town of Vega de San Mateo has been celebrating their patronal festivities in honour of the Apostle Saint Matthew and the festivities will end this Sunday.

The weekend is always an awesome time to visit San Mateo, as the traditional weekend market takes place from Friday to Sunday. Only a short stroll away from the market is the beautiful church and the cobbled streets surrounding it.

“Local busses are always a good road trip option. From Playa de Mogán and Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria area, you can take the fast bus 91 to San Telmo station in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and then change to 303 to San Mateo (same bus station). If there is a good connection it will take just over 2 hours to get to San Mateo and at the same time enjoy some amazing views along the way.”

Rally Villa de Teror | 26-27 September 🚗🚕

The 44th Villa de Teror Rally, the penultimate round of the Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Championship (CCRA), will take place on September 26 and 27, 2025. The season will conclude with the 2025 Maspalomas Rally in November (1st).

 

“When there is a rally going on, it also means road closures during the stages!”

 

Itinerary and Sections

The ceremonial start will take place on Friday, September 26th, while the main day will be on Saturday, September 27th. Nine timed sections will be contested, testing the teams’ skills. Three sections will be repeated three times: Teror – Utiaca (10.36 kilometers), Artenara – Cruz de Tejeda (13.95 kilometers), and Zumacal – Los Castillos (7.52 kilometers), to complete the race.

In total, the rally will have 95.50 kilometers of timed stages and 162.32 kilometers of liaison sections, totaling 257.81 kilometers. The first competitor will start the first stage at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday the 27th, and the race is expected to finish around 7:00 p.m.
