A 53-year-old man of British nationality, reportedly a resident on Gran Canaria, died on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, after falling through a hole in the parking area of Gran Canaria Airport. The event occurred in the domestic departures section of the airport, and the fall was approximately ten metres—the height of about three storeys.

The National Police are currently leading the investigation into the incident. As of the latest update, the cause of the fall has not been determined. It has not been confirmed whether the incident was accidental or intentional.
According to the report, the man was alone at the time of the fall. It was also noted that he had been seen loitering in the area the night before, but no further context has been provided regarding his behaviour or reasons for being there.
