We are well into November and winter is finally attempting to catch up with Gran Canaria, some fast winds this week bringing a few clouds in off the Atlantic with stormy weather out mid-ocean the north of the island can expect occasional downpours. As ever a little brighter and breezier on the south and south west.

AEMET, the Spanish meteorological Agency, predict “cool in the air”. Temperatures to the south around 24ºCin the shade with some cloud cover, and even a small possibility of rain. Temperatures will be higher along the coastlines. The summits of Gran Canaria will see a big shift in temperatures with predictions of around 15ºC and blustery clouds and rain. There is even a chance of snow above 1800 meters on Friday and 1900 meters on Saturday so with a little bit of luck, the island’s highest point could even receive a frosted topping.

The wonderful events planned for you to go and experience this weekend include the return of WOMAD Las Palmas, bringing the World of Music, Arts & Dance to the capital, Winter Pride event in Maspalomas with a series of glamorous free shows in the evenings at shopping centre Yumbo, a Manga festival in INFECAR and a Beer Festival in Gáldar to mention just a few.
