How did we get already to the end of September and it seems summer sped past super fast.
There’s a big weekend ahead with some awesome events going on, a coast-to-coast hike and several major charity events, Chillout time in Agaete, Patron Saint festivities, the big North Gran Canaria Festival, as well as beer and music events. Absolutely something for everyone.

AEMET, the Spanish State Meteorological Agency is predicting beautiful weather down in the south with highs of almost 30ºC in the shade, a bit less to the north and mountainous regions and with some possibility of cloud cover. All in all, one amazing weekend coming up…

EMERGENCIA CLIMÁTICA MANIFESTATION

Millions of people have been protesting across the world as part of a global climate strike, sparked by student activist Greta Thunberg.

As people make a stand on the escalating climate crisis in this week’s global climate strike, there is a planned demonstration gathering in the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this Friday.

27-29 SEPTEMBER, AGAETE AGAETE CHILLOUT

In Agaete, the north west side of the island this weekend is all about music, spectacle, fashion shows, gastronomy, cocktails, relaxation and activities for the whole family. This is the fourth edition.

On Friday, 09:30-10:00. Children’s gastronomy workshops 10:00-13:00. Gastronomy tastings 13:00-14:00. Concerts from 18:30 and the last one starts at 22:30

On Saturday, a cocktail exhibition 12:00-13:00. Massage relaxation area 12:30-16:30. Agaete Swimwear Fashion Show at 17:30. Concerts from 13:30 until the last of evening by Ultima Llave at 23:15.

On Sunday, Cocktail exhibition 11:30-12:30. Concerts from 12:30 throughout the day until the Agaete Chillout closes at 19:30.


27-29 SEPTEMBER, VALSEQUILLO
FIESTAS Y FERIA SAN MIGUEL 2019

Valsequillo are celebrating their festivities in honour of San Miguel, Saint Michael the Archangel, until the end of the first week in October. This weekend includes “The day of San Miguel” on Sunday.

On Friday, a 60s themed evening party “Fiesta Guateque de los Años 60” starting at 22:00
On Saturday at midnight the XXXIII edition of Suelta del Perro Maldito. A street theatre spectacle that is followed by a huge fireworks show at 01:00 at Plaza de Tifaritti.  The Fuegos de San Miguel are some of the most spectacular to be seen anywhere.

Sunday is the “Día de San Miguel” Early up at 06:00 for the “Diana” with a rhythmic music band. A cattle exhibition starts at 08:00 at the Recinto Ferial.  Mass and a procession of the image of Michael the archangel at 11:30. The cattle parade in the pedestrian area of Valsequillo happens from 13:30 and at 18:00 the Carreras de Caballos, is a horse race on the tarmac of the GC-41, the main street going through Valsequillo. “Boleroch and Roll” is a show at 20:30 at Plaza de Tifaritti, featuring famous operatic pop singer Cristina Ramos.


27-28 SEPTEMBER, TEROR  XXXIX RALLYE VILLA DE TEROR & 7 Gran Canaria Historic Rallye

The 39th Villa de Teror Rally, which this year will also be held jointly with the Gran Canaria Historic Rallye, which celebrates its 7th edition. The race, on Friday and Saturday has more than ninety registered competitors 12 of them ranked in Regularity Sport.

On Friday the special stage at 21:30 and on Saturday the rally starts with the stretch  TEROR – ARÍÑEZ at 09:45

As ever Rally means road closures and detours, be aware before you head up which is the best route for you.

VIII FESTIVAL COSTA NORTE

The 8th edition of “North Coast Festival” in El Altillo – El Pagador in the municipality of Villa de Moya. 2 days of more than 25 hours of activities by the sea, surrounded by nature, landscapes, culture and the people of the North of Gran Canaria.

Concerts, sports, workshops, fair and endless activities make up a complete program for all audiences.

New #Musicando series starts again with Jose Manuel Ramos to open the autumn cycle this Saturday with «Remembering Antonio Machín: Yesterday, today and forever».

The Musicando series offers free outdoor concerts ( a total of seven ) open for all to enjoy. This series starts on 28 September in Parque Doramas ( José Antonio Ramos auditorium ) in Las Palmas.

All concerts start at 21:00 and are free to enter until seats full.

SUNDAY 29 SEPTEMBER, VALLESECO FIESTAS DE LA ENCARNACIÓN Y LA MANZANA 

Valleseco, the main municipality of Gran Canaria famous for its cider and apples, celebrates the Feast of the Incarnation and Apple, a celebration to help you get to know the municipality, its people and its customs.

In 2011, this festival was declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest by the Government of the Canary Islands, hence, a list of activities has been devised to promote this inland mountain municipality.

The Festivities officially began last week and end on October 13. With a main highlight, the Cattle Fair on Sunday September 29 and a big weekend still to come during the first days of October, from 4 to 6.

This Sunday at the recreational area of Laguna starting at 10:00 there is a cattle fair, craft fair, childrens party, different exhibitions

The eighth charity coast-to-coast walk over the highest point on Gran Canaria… this year walking 3 days crossing Pico de Las Nieves, from sunrise at the Costa San Felipe to sunset at Playa del Inglés on the Costa Canaria Maspalomas.

Come meet the walkers as they come in to Maspalomas after a full day walking, some of them having walked 3 days coast-to coast over the island, and join in the last leg, this is a simple 4km walk from from the main south park Parque Sur de Maspalomas to the Riu Palace Maspalomas at 1900 for The Big Picture and then along the Costa Canaria walkway for The Last Mile to our finishing party at Tipsy Hammock in Playa del Inglés
