A lovely sunny December weekend ahead across the south as a sunny winter shapes up in the run up to christmas.
14-16 DECEMBER, MOGÁN
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – MOGAN TOWN HALL
The Mogán Christmas program runs from December 14 to January 5 and includes various activities and events spread across virtually all neighbourhoods in the municipality. So Arguineguín, Mogán, Motor Grande, Las Filipinas, Barranquillo Andrés, El Horno, Veneguera and Playa de Mogán will all enjoy events aimed at the whole family and especially the smallest of the house.
On Friday: A Christmas Gala in Plaza Pérez Galdós located in Arguineguín, in front of the main parish church. Various local school students giving their best performances. Starts at 19:00.
On Saturday in Mogán casco (village) the inauguration of the Ornamental Nativity Scene located in the Church of San Antonio de Padua at 20:30 and followed by some carol singing by Canarian music groups.
On Sunday, a photocall for the kids at Plaza Pérez Galdós between 17:00-19:00, with a giant christmas ball. And at 19:00 the local arts schools present their seasonal show the “Nutcracker”

CHRISTMAS MARKET – HOTEL MARITIM PLAYA
The 10th traditional and popular Christmas market at the hotel Maritim Playa, in Playa del Inglés. The Christmas Market opens at 16:00. You can still visit once more after this between 21.12.-23.12
Christmas spirit and decorations, Canarian and German artisans, Glühwein, baked goods, music performances and much more.

The Town hall of Santa Lucia has a varied program of events happening this holiday season. See the full program here (in Spanish).
On Friday, a Children’s grand aparty at the pedestrian area of Avenida de Canarias between 17:00-20:30.
On Saturday, music concerts on the pedestrian areas between 19:00-21:00. Plaza San Rafael, pedestrian area at the height of Calle Menéndez Pelayo and the pedestrian area in front of Calle Domingo Doreste.

SOLIDARITY CHRISTMAS FAIR – CC EL TABLERO
The little southern shopping centre at El Tablero is hosting a solidarity Winter fun fair event on Saturday from 19:00-20:00. Its free entry in exchange to a donation of food for those in need. Many holiday workshops to participate for the whole family.
SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER, LAS PALMAS
“MUSIC IN THE PARK”
Concert of the ivory Dobet Gnahoré at Parque Doramas from 12:00-14:00. This concert opens the season of Music in the Park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. ” Música en el Parque” World Music reveals different cultures and their roots, invites us to know and respect them. Organized by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This is also part of the town hall’s Christmas program.

Christmas comes alive for another year with special joy and excitement in the streets of Villa de Moya, where this Sunday from 10:00 to 15:00, there will be a new edition of the traditional Handicraft & Trade Fair named simply “Villa de Moya at Christmas”, with more than fifty stands displaying the most original offerings with the best products of commerce and handicrafts in the municipality and from around the north of Gran Canaria.
Attendees can enjoy music and dance performances.
