Agents of the National Police have arrested three men of 32, 41 and 44 years of age, all of them with previous police records, in the southern municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana suspected of being the alleged perpetrators of two crimes of burglary and theft, both committed in the main tourist resort area of Gran Canaria. They are accused of breaking into an apartment complex in Bahia Feliz , where they stole clothes, a tablet and cash. Later they moved on to a supermarket in Meloneras to steal three baskets full of tobacco cartons and bottles of alcohol.

A call to the Policia Nacional main line 091 from a security guard at a resort located in the tourist area of ​​Bahía Feliz, reported three individuals having accessed the interior of one of the apartments, from which they had stolen several items including cash.

The three men, who left the place hastily in a white vehicle, then went to a supermarket in Meloneras, this time to steal three baskets full of tobacco and bottles of alcohol with a total value of €485.

Several police officers on patrol observed the vehicle fitting the description provided by the security guard, and so they were pulled over on the main boulevard in Meloneras.

A search of the vehicle uncovered all the stolen objects that had been takend from both in the Bahía Feliz complex and the Meloneras supermarket. One of the occupants was even wearing several items of the clothing stolen from the apartment, so they were all arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force and theft.

Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana were requested, to assist. The recovered objects were returned to their legitimate owners.

The detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority and the police intervention was carried out by agents of the main Maspalomas Police Station.
