16 stores in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria found selling fake branded products
The Guardia Civil have investigated 16 people, between June 17 and July 4, alleged of having committed crimes against industrial property, having discovered counterfeit goods from several well-known brands, in their shops in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria.
The Guardia Civil began after receiving complaints from representatives of the plagiarized brands; so agents inspected the businesses identified, in conjunction with a legal representative of the commercial brands or signatories, finding sportswear, clothing accessories, mobile phone accessories (mobile phone cases) and forged sound devices, which they sold as originals in 16 establishments, from where the counterfeit goods were siezed and the premises closed and sealed.
The store business managers, four women and twelve men, were investigated as the alleged perpetrators of a crime against industrial property, and were put at the disposal of the corresponding magistrates in Maspalomas.
In total Guardia Civil confiscated 4,304 counterfeit products, valued at an official value of €284,895 .
