It´s the first weekend of November and the weather predictions are offering some cloudy days ahead and even a small chance of rain, primarily on the northern parts of island… Gran Canaria winter is here. There are many interesting events going on this weekend including Fashion & friends, the Regional Wine, Cheese and Honey-fair in Santa Brigida as well as a big comic and manga festival at Infecar among others.
Gran Canaria Fashion & Friends 2017
Trends, music and gastronomy on offer throughout the weekend at the Miller building in Las Palmas. A “vibrant, transformative and creative” event at which the latest trends in “fashion, technology, music, gastronomy, culture and solidarity” are all on show … a chance to see first hand emerging trends which last year brought together more than 40,000 reported attendees.

8º Festival del manga y Comic-Can
Gran Canaria is be the animated epicenter of the Manga Festival of Las Palmas and the Gran Canaria Comic-Can 2017.
Infecar looks set to receive a legion of superheroes, invading spaceships, aliens and characters from the future with the eighth edition of the Las Palmas Manga Festival and Gran Canaria Cómic-Can 2017 this weekend. 60% of the visitors who come to the fair are between 14 and 35 years old. The event has grown to become one of the best comic fairs in all Spain.
These 2 events are jointly held, each with its own theme. The Manga Festival is dedicated to ‘Ghost in the shell’, a futuristic espionage thriller, and Cómic-Can is celebrated under the title ‘They came from outer space’, which is also the name of the main exhibition, with ships, vehicles, collectibles dedicated to various television series, movies, books or comics with the main theme of alien invasion.
In addition, the annual comic book character exhibition will this year be dedicated to Batman, with exclusive life sized figures, 1:1 scale, and a brief outline of the character´s history in comic, film and television over the years.
The event includes an average of 50 activities each day with drawing contests, workshops, exhibitions, and a video game tournament for which visitors will have 64 computers and 16 consoles. In addition, a retro zone will be enabled attendees to play many of the games that were raging in decades gone by.

VIII Feria Regional de Vino, Queso y Miel
The 8th Regional Wine, Cheese and Honey fair throughout this weekend in Santa Brigida. This edition includes samples of various Canarian vegetable products.

The Triana shopping district in Las Palmas, our capital’s oldest original merchant quarter, are having their main open weekend event, as they do every first weekend of the month.
Puppets & storytelling in English and outdoor concerts, craft workshops, make-up, puppet shows, flea markets of second-hand clothes and many other attractions.
Activities take place on Saturday from 11:00-14:00 and on Sunday from 11:00-18:00.

Mercadillo Agrícola, Muestra de Artesanía y Complementos
Agricultural Market, Handicrafts and Accessories, the penultimate one of the year in the lovely west coast town of La Aldea from 09:00 to 14:00.
In La Alameda and the surrounding streets you will find baked goods, seasonal fruits and vegetables, handicrafts, jewelry, decorative items, etc. Guided visits are on offer to the Ethnographic Museum run by the Cultural Project of Community Development La Aldea, a play area for children and complementary activities.

Shopping center Atlantico is holding a pet day event from 10:00-18:30.
During the day there will be a collection of pet food. at 11:00 a Solidarity dog walk, starting from the outside terrace and touring the perimeter of the shopping center.
