3/11/18
Las Palmas take on 3rd place Deportivo. If we win tonight we will go join 3rd. Last week LP let a 2 goal lead slip away at Mallorca , drawing 2-2, so they have slipped to 6th in the league.
10mins and a long ball to Araujo but his first touch let him down. 13mins,LP give away a stupid free kick on the edge of the box but shot went straight into the wall. Good shot by the visitors produce a good save by Raul.
20mins Deportivo hit the bar from a header. Lucky escape there.
First good chance for LP on 30mins, Araujo makes a good tackle on former player Simon, wins the ball and cuts into the box, pulls the ball back but shot well over the bar.
HT – Las Palmas 0 Deportivo 0
The HT Verdict – even game so far with the visitors having the best chance with the header hitting the bar. Deportivo look very organised and are stopping LP playing their passing game. They are looking for Rafa Mir too much and he’s not winning a lot against a strong defence. LP Need to push the full backs more forward to provide more chances.
Great start to the 2nd half, What a hit from Ruiz de Galarrets a screamer from 30yards out into Top corner, in off the bar. 1-0 LP.
61mins and Deportivo are on top now. A couple of 1/2 chances for the visitors.
70mins Rafa Mir goes close after good work by sub Tano. 2 big mistakes by Deportivo at the back but LP fell to take advantage.
88mins, big delay as there is a big bust up between both sets of coaching staff, Deportivo manager gets sent off!!!
More chances for the home side but they are not taking there chances and this could spell trouble!
5mins of injury time is met with groans from the home fans.
Deportivo win a couple of corners and in the 5th min of injury time, the big centre half left unmarked at the far post to head in the equaliser. The ref blows full Time and the home fans go home bitterly disappointed and another 3pts dropped again.
Full Time – Las Palmas 1 Deportivo 1
The Saint Verdict – a very disappointing end to the game. Las Palmas will be kicking themselves as this game should of been won. Far to many miss chances late on in the game. They need to be more clinical in front of goal. That’s already 5 draws this season which could cost them in there but for promotion.
Next home match – 16th November
