A warm September weekend ahead on Gran Canaria, according to the latest weather forecast by AEMET, the Spanish state meteorological agency. Many splendid events happening this weekend including Agaete Chill out and Tropical beer fest event in Las Palmas among many others.
Santa Catalina Park hosts the Tropical Fest 2018 this weekend. Concerts, DJs, gastronomy, an exhibition of motorcycles and the best national and international beers complete an entertainment line up for the whole family, to which pets are also welcome.

Puerto de las Nieves celebrates its 3rd edition of Agaete Chill Out at which fashion, gastronomy, music, tasting, cocktails and shows will be the protagonists.
On Friday, gastronomic children’s workshops 10.00-15:00. The students of the Hotel School of the Canary Islands (Hecansa) will provide gastronomic tastings with products of the municipality accompanied by wines from the Bodega Los Berrazales between 13:00-14:00.

On Saturday Gastronomy, cocktails and coffee will have a very important presence in this edition so there will be demonstrations of haute cuisine with local produce such as Café de Agaete, barista exhibitions using the technique of the aeropress, 11:30 – 12:30 and then show cooking with local produce 12:30-13:30. Expert mixologists, will show the secrets to combining Café de Agaete and the local tropical fruits and thus achieve the most exquisite cocktails 13:30-14:30. Relax massage area 12:30-16:30. Swimwear Fashion Show at 17:30 in the idyllic seaside setting of the old pier, with some new designers and surprises planned.

FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE LA PAZ
the 1st International Solidarity Festival on Gran Canaria celebrating World Day for Peace and Non-Violence declared by the UN, where 22 non-profit associations will participate, institutions and personalities from the cultural, political, religious, educational, artistic, social and health sectors, with the presence of Ricard Rotllan, one of the disciples of His Holiness Dalai Lama, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda and the great-grandson of Nelson Mandela, Luvuyo Mandela. With various activities such as parades, workshops, documentaries, conferences, solidarity march, release of turtles and pigeons, etc.
On Friday a lively parade between 10:00-12:30 on the beach of Las Canteras and the reading of the manifesto of La Paz with music, dance, group experiences to raise awareness to young people. Later in the Plaza de la Puntilla, from 12:30-15:00 chillout music and from 15:00-19:00 activities. Finally, from 19:00- 23:00 the official opening of the festival with the assistance of personalities of public life, and a concert.
On Saturday “The solidary march” from 11:00-14:00 ‘for World Peace’ on Paseo de Las Canteras with the participation of people from different cultures, associations and social federations, as well as music and folk groups. Afterwards, the participants will meet in La Puntilla Square to proceed with the reading of a manifesto of Peace and interactive activities that promote the Culture of Peace with music and dance. From 14:00-15:00 chill out music and screening of the documentary ‘Culturas de Resistencia’, directed by Lara Lee. From 15:30 to 23:00 musical performances will take place with multicultural dances, messages from artists and activists for Peace, unity, equality and for human rights.

On Sunday at Finca Osorio in Teror, there is tree planting happening between 10:00-14:00
For the 8th time, great fun to be had on three Saturdays in Maritim Playa hotel in Playa del Inglés. First one this Saturday with some original Spatenbräu and Bavarian delicacies.
The Oktoberfest Olympiad is one of the beer guzzling highlights of this event. Expect Germans!

Valsequillo is celebrating their festivities in honour of Saint Michael the Archangel. On Saturday, Romeria, the pilgrimage offering procession in which all the neighborhoods of the town participate and many folkmusic groups play.
The winning carriage will represent the municipality in the pilgrimage of Our Lady of the Pine in Teror next year. The Romeria starts at 18:30. Church and surrounding area is good places to aim to enjoy this traditional event.
Later in the evening dancing and music at Plaza de Tifaritti at 22:30 and DJ Promaster at Plaza San Miguel ( in front of the church at 00:00.
The local neighbourhood of El Tablero is hosting the first meeting of traditional canarian dancers on Saturday evening. The groups Amor Canario, of Santa Lucía, the Municipal School of Folklore of Santa Brígida and the local Folkloric Association La Cucaña of El Tablero, will play music, intending to become an annual spectacular and unforgettable date for the traditional dancers and dancers of the whole island of Gran Canaria.
A chance to see the enormous variety and beauty of the dances that make up the musical heritage of the Islands through the numerous and different figures that these dances offers.

Telde says goodbye to the summer with a day of urban culture event “San Juan Urbanita” taking place at Parque de San Juan.
Saturday includes among other; workshops, music, dance, sports and art. Starting at 12:00 and live music concerts in the evening starts at 21:00
The second hand ‘Rastro’ market takes place in the surroundings of the southern town hall every Sunday, with a lot of great bargains to be found.
This Sunday, like every second Sunday there is a farmers market too.
