The Southern Urban Park, Parque Sur Maspalomas, will be temporarily closed from Monday, September 10 to Sunday, September 16, both days inclusive, due to scheduled maintenance works.

The largest municipal urban leisure installation in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has been required by the town hall to close for one week as a preventive and security measure, as important refurbishment works have been planned to improve the interior of the site.

The park, built two decades ago, has been undergoing various maintenance, renovation and conservation works since 2012, with an investment of almost one million euros already spent.

These maintenance works now planned are aimed at improving and conditioning the interior paths and tracks within the Park, with works focused on restoring and preserving the 1,440.4 square meters of bicycle paths and the 5,273.4 square meters of the jogging circuit, to give them both greater efficiency and safety, and a much more aesthetic finish.
