Spring is in the air and the weekend ahead looks lovely, with just a few clouds in the sky predicted though there may be the possibility of some rain for the start of next week (according to Spanish State Met Office AEMET ). Sunday 22 April, San Bartolomé de Tirajana
Rastro & Mercadillo Agricola Maspalomas

The second hand fleamarket takes place in the surroundings of the southern town hall every Sunday, with a lot of great bargains to be found. This Sunday, like every second Sunday there is a farmers market too.

Sunday 22 April, Teror
Teror Market and the new “farmers corner”

The Sunday market in Teror premieres ‘Farmer’s Corner’ next Sunday April 22, a new sales space that will be located every Sunday in Plaza de la Alameda Pío XII, in front of the Episcopal Palace, from 9:00 to 15:00, offering agri-food products (vegetables, fruits, vegetables, medicinal herbs, spices, cheeses or honeys).

A total of 13 sellers have joined the initiative of the Teror council Market Department, with the aim of expanding the offer of the traditional municipal market and, at the same time, bring a new attraction for the thousands of visitors who attend every week and energise the activity of the Casco de Teror on Sundays.

Currently, around a hundred street vendors are present at the “Mercadillo de Teror” every Sunday, with a wide variety of products. To this are added a dozen artisans, located in the Plaza del Pino, and the establishments of the Open Commercial Area of Teror that open every Sunday.

Teror Town Council last year celebrated the 145th anniversary of the Sunday Market of Teror, taking as a reference the date in 1872, the year in which the existence of the Market was consolidated with the publication of the public auction of pitches.

However, since the second half of 18th century the importance of commercial development in Teror, as a primary supply hub for the Medianías, the inland zone of the island, was well known along with the first origins of street vendors in the surroundings of the Basilica del Pino.
