The 66th traditional Romería-Ofrenda del Pino, probably the most important pilgrimage offering on the island, to our Lady of the Pine, is in Teror today Thursday 7 September. Teror, the beautiful historic mountain town to the north, presents this religious celebration every year on Gran Canaria, for the revered image of the patron of the town and the island of Gran Canaria, representing the diocese of The Canary Islands.
One of the hands-down most popular of the Romería-Ofrenda sees pilgrims, along with VIPs and dignitaries, dressed in traditional Canarian costume heading to the main Plaza del Pino with their offerings. This Pilgrimage Offering to the Virgen del Pino, starts at 15.30, with 30 wagons representing the governing Cabildo de Gran Canaria, all the municipalities of the Island, Canarian folklore, and groups from all over the Archipelago. Wagons carrying produce of the land and offerings to the virgin, like fruit, vegetables, wine, cheese from local producers and manufactures. Leaving from Castañero Gordo going to Plaza de Sintes. Followed by live music and performances.
On Friday 8 September the Solemn Eucharist is celebrated in the Basilica del Pino at 12:00 followed by the procession of the image of Nuestra Señora Del Pino accompanied by religious, civil and military authorities and by the Band of Music of Teror.
On Saturday 9 September, a craft exhibition for El Pino 2017 in Plaza del Pino and surroundings from 10:00 to 20:00. In the evening the concert of El Pino 2017 concert with “La Unión”, Tutto Durán, Oscar Martínez and DJ Promaster at Plaza Sintes 22:00

Sun fiesta with with the Star Music Orchestra and DJ Line at Alameda Pío XII starting at 14:00 and Holy Rosary, Novena and concelebration of the Eucharist at Basilica del Pino starting at 18:30 followed by the procession of the Image of Our Lady of the Pine on Calle Real with fireworks display during the procession on Muro Nuevo
Fiestas El Pino will also cause some major road closures in Teror and the road leading to town.
during the festivities bars and stalls can stay open until very late.
