Town councillors of Mogán, Ernesto Hernandez and Juan Carlos Ortega, accompanied Cabildo de Gran Canaria technical staff, on Monday July 3, during a visit to the town Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria on the southern Costa Mogán. The visit is being touted as the first step to enabling charging points for electric cars in the municipality of Mogán.
The Cabildo de Gran Canaria have a project plan for the installation of electric vehicle recharging points for 10 municipalities on the island, including the popular tourist destinations of Mogán. The visit was a first contact on the ground to see the proposed sites in person and study possible locations for the recharging points in Puerto Rico.
The Puerto Rico area has been chosen for the installation of the first recharging facilities as the town is a transit zone for both those who work in the area and those who go to the beach or to the commercial centres. In addition, it is a central tourist point for the wider municipality of Mogán.
