The Cabildo de Gran Canaria report that a fire in Tejeda has already been brought under control
, having affected two hectares of pasture and scrubland. The fire was declared at around 1 pm this Sunday in the area between La Culata and Cuevas Caídas, in Gran Canarias mountainous interior.
Air crews quickly began with the work of extinguishing the fire, which produced a lot of smoke visible for miles around.
A helicopter from the Cabildo with six members of the Presa 2 firefighting team, as well as a motorbike rider and firemen from San Mateo attended the blaze, along with a second helicopter sent by the Government of the Canary Islands.
