The Fiesta del Carmen is held in Arguineguín and Playa de Mogán with the townhall this year presenting a single program from 7 to 30 July. The program of the Fiestas del Carmen 2017 includes a great variety of religious, traditional, and cultural celebrations for all.
This year the program includes some new events and some modifications. The ever-popular water festival will be transformed into the ‘Arguin H2O Water Festival‘. A “fun filled” fair is to be held on Sunday July the 9 between 12:30-19:30 aimed at “the whole family” with inflatables, doughnut slides, aquatic tubes and various water runs of up to 40 meters long and 12m wide on the beach of Marañuelas. Accompanied by music with DJs and numerous musical performances of various styles.
As a novelty, the first edition of the Miss and Mister Costa Mogán gala will be on Friday 7 July at 21:30
July´s celebrations for the Festivities of the Carmen in the municipality of Mogán, will include a multitude of activities and events, over a little more than three weeks, with competitions like the chess tournament, and tournaments of traditional games like petanque, zanga, cinquillo, domino and parchis.
Saturday 8 July : The Romeria-ofrenda, Pilgrimage offering to the Virgen del Carmen starting at 19:00 from Avenida de Muelle (the decorated carts and carriages gather along the road where the Arguineguín post office is located ). The route travels via the seafront road Avenida Marañuela to Plaza Pérez Galdós in front of the church, where the offerings are made followed by some lovely traditional dancing on the plaza. The after party at the market square will incorporate lots of musical styles starting at 23:30
At 21:00 a concert on Plaza de las Marañuelas by Afortunadas and Noray
Wednesday 12 July: Children´s fashion catwalk at 20:30 at Plaza de las Marañuelas followed by a party for children with entertainment and DJ’s
Friday 14 July : Bajada de la Rama, lowering of the branch (a colloquial add on to many traditional festivities here on the island, incorporating pre-christian traditions of lowering a tree branch to the sea as an offering to bring rain). The departure from Plazade Pino Seco at 18:30. In the evening musical performances at Plaza de las Marañuelas starting at 23:00
Saturday 15 July : activities for children between 11:00-14:00 at Plaza de las Marañuelas.
The Eucharist and procession with statues from the main church to Marañuelas beach at 20:00, followed by fireworks at midnight and a big party afterwards with live music performances.
Sunday 16 July : Dia de nuestra Senora del Carmen. The main day of celebration.
Eucharist mass at 10:30 followed by the famous maritime procession, where the main boat carries the statue of the Virgen del Carmen to Puerto Mogán and back accompanied by hundreds of boats.

Thursday 20 July : Traditional games for children and adults at 18:30 Plaza Dr. Pedro Betancor León
Friday 21 July : Fashion catwalk with many performances including The Face Circus at 21:30 at Plaza Dr. Pedro Betancor León
Saturday 22 July: the 6th edition of the swimming competition – “travesia a nado Taurito-Playa de Mogán” starting at 10:30.

Sunday 23 July : Children´s fashion catwalk with music and other performances at 21:00 in Plaza de las Gañanias
Thursday 27 July: Water fun at the beach with inflatables , doughnut ramps, slides and much more between 12:00-19:00
Friday 28 July : Concert at Plaza de las Gañanias starting at 22:30 with some very popular local artists, followed by an evening party.
Saturday 29 July : Bajada de la Rama, lowering the branch procession starting at 18:00. In the evening a lot of music and fun as well as fireworks at midnight
Sunday 30 July : Eucharist mass at 10:30 at Plaza Dr. Pedro Betancor León, followed by the smaller return maritime procession
