With a national holiday coming this Tuesday, Asunción de la Virgen, the 6th edition of the ironically named “End of Year” summer party, in the historic neighbourhood of Vegueta in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is on Monday 14 August from 18:00 to 01:00 as part of the ‘Campanadas de verano’ summer activities program.
It is expected that between 12,000 &15,000 people will participate this Monday and enjoy one of the more popular celebrations that the city offers during summer season, having now become a tradition in Las Palmas, enjoyed by thousands of people. Starting from 18:00 revellers get together to have fun, while organizers distribute thousands of grapes among a public, in a nod to the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes at midnight to ring in the new year. Also there is a concert from the very popular music group ‘Los Lola’
The summer bells party will also mean traffic restrictions in the surroundings of Vegueta
