Wine and food tastings, workshops for children, conferences, live cooking, unique native sports, concerts, folk groups and a sample of artisans are just some of the items on offer during the upcoming fourth edition of Gran Canaria Me Gusta (Gran Canaria, I like) Fair, dedicated to exhibiting the wide range of rich local products, promoting the insular economy and highlighting the value of this territorial region.
Over this coming weekend, 21-23 April at Infecar, the island capital’s main exhibition ground will become a large market for local food, gastronomy, agricultural and fishery production, industry, livestock and ecological agriculture, handicrafts and rural tourism.
The Fair is open to the general public on Friday and Saturday 11:00-20:00 and on Sunday 11:00-17:00 for just €2,50 and is free for children, pensioners, people with disabilities and the registered unemployed.
The gastronomic area will have 10 main booths, which will be open from 12:00 to 23:00 (on Sunday until 17:00). In addition, two live concerts; on Friday at 20:00 ‘Última Parada’ and on Saturday at 20:00 ‘Los Gofiones’, sponsored by Spar Gran Canaria. During the fair, gastronomic exhibitions will take place in the three kitchens, on in each of the three pavilions, and there is a tasting room with a daily program presenting products like wine, honey, cheese, oil and beer.
This major food fair has sponsorship and collaboration from many leading companies and entities that make the event possible, including Spar Gran Canaria, Cajasiete, Tropical, Gran Canaria Gourmet, Leroy Merlin and Radio Televisión Canaria.
