‘Five Seconds of Silence’ on set filming, London, Britain – 31 Mar 2016

The World War II thriller, “Allied” starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, filming on Gran Canaria.

Written by Steven Knight and directed by oscar winner Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump), Allied has been shooting in London, with production also taking place on Gran Canaria specifically in Las Palmas. The Paramount picture is set for release during Oscar awards season, currently scheduled for 23 November in the US.

Zemeckis has directed some of the most memorable films such as Forrest Gump, Back to the Future I & II & III, Cast away and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Brad Pitt probably does not need explanations of any sort.

Marion Cotillard, the oscar winning famous French actress is known for her parts in films like La Vie en Rose as Édith Piaf, The Dark Knight RisesMidnight in Paris by Woody Allen, and Public Enemies by Michael Mann

The movie “Allied” , which previously had the working title ‘Five seconds of silence’  will be shooting in Las Palmas in at least three locations starting from 20 May. The scenes will be aiming to recreate the atmosphere and ambience of the 40s in the Moroccan enclave of Casablanca.

Set in 1942 the film follows a French-Canadian spy Max Vatan (Bratt Pitt) who falls in love and marries a French agent (Marion Cotillard) during a dangerous mission in Casablanca. Later he is notified that his wife is likely to be a Nazi spy and begins his own investigation of her, finding himself having to deal with secrets from their past.
