The demolition, reconstruction and improvement of the roof, deck and land surroundingone of the main water supply tanks for Arguineguín have finally begun. The comprehensive rehabilitation of the reservoir has a budget of approximately €128,000 euros from the 2016 Annuity Cooperation Plan between the Ayuntamiento and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.
Planned actions include works to complete demolition of the cover, which is to be replaced by a new one as it had deteriorated significantly. The various operations in the reservoir are critical as it was in a ruinous state. With this long overdue rehabilitation work a good supply service in this area of Arguineguin can be ensured and the image of the area, with adaptation of the surrounding environment, is to improve, say Mogán council in a statement.
If all goes as planned, the work will be completed within three months. Arguineguín is the first deposit where these rehabilitation works will be carried out. Works will continue soon on other reservoirs, such as in the village of El Horno. Also bidding is underway on the tenders for similar works at Tabaibales and the Lomo Tuerto. The works on these last three deposits are to be funded directly by Mogán Town Council.
